Our groups have previously gone the last week of September. This year we went 2nd week for warmer temps. Fishing was good but the Gunflint Area (and outfitters) was packed with people. We are considering 3rd week to thin out the crowds.
Any significant difference in 2nd vs 3rd week of September for fishing? We typically fish Red Rock, Alpine, and Seagull
I can’t imagine a week would make a huge difference fishing. But of course, if solitude is what you’re after, maybe keep heading towards Jasper or Ogish?

I was just up there in late September and Ogish was damn near full. It was almost Most of the campsites I had wanted were taken.
