Hey, all. Me and my small group are going to Perent Lake July 31 - August 5 and are wondering if anyone has any fishing tips. Will the walleye be biting? How's the pike fishing? Any chance of catching perch and lake whitefish at that time? Any help is appreciated.
Thank you!
Thank you!

We were on two years ago in July. Caught lots of walleyes on weed edges. No northerns, bass or perch though. We had several days of really bad wind and really didn't get to fish the lake much though. Plan on a long windy paddle on Hog Creek before getting to Perent, thought it would never end!

My wife and I took our oldest daughter to Perent for her first trip at age 5. Nothing bigger than 14 in. but even she caught a bunch of walleye. We used a jig and leech. Perent if tough with any wind so we hide behind the islands found weed lines.
Perent has a lot of big boulders just under the surface so the bow paddler needs to be alert.
There are a few really nice island campsites.
I agree with the statement above that the Hog Creek paddle feels like it’s never going to end.
It was 13 years ago, but our entry was the last few days of July.

We have always had good luck on Perent trolling with #5 - #7 Rapala Shad raps. Perch, Gold, Bass color have worked well. Our best luck was the northern bay and paddling between islands. Just watch for boulders between the islands.
We used monofilament line. Spider wire really lodges the lures into trees or between rocks.
As others have said be mentally ready for Hog Creek to seem like it never ends.

We did Perent with our daughters 2020 and 2021. Fishing was excellent near the end of July. Most comments on here are accurate. I typically bring up the nice sonar for this trip since its not a lot of portaging and have found some very nice spots for holding walleyes and they have been anywhere from 5 feet to 10 feet down in the middle of the summer. the last couple hours in the evening it was non-stop walleye and I wasn't able to fish because the girls and the wife were catching them non-stop on slip bobbers.
I hesitate to ever give out coordinates when I find a "hot" spot that has produced multiple years but I will say if you study the lake map and target certain areas that walleyes tend to hold to during the summer time in addition to read other fishing posts about walleye patterns in the summer you should not have any issues catching lots of walleyes on that lake.
Best colors when trolling cranks were perch color and our personal favorite purple/gold.
We did catch some eater perch off of the island campsites just tossing out a worm on a hook and split shot. We puffed the worm with air to keep it slightly off the bottom and tried to keep it in the 10-12 ft range off camp.
