Hi guys,

Anybody have any recommendations for a place to stay for a night in Ely?

My friend and I are heading up to Snowbank Lodge and Outfitters for a week from Saturday the 6th until Saturday the 13th.

But I figured I might want to do the driving tomorrow (Friday the 5th), so that we're well rested and ready to go when the Saturday 3pm check in time arrives.

So, we might want to sleep in Ely tomorrow, and then take a little tour of the town and visit a few of the bait shops / outfitters before checking into Snowbank on Saturday.

Any recommendations for a place in Ely to spend the night tomorrow night, if we decide to drive up a day early?

I would check with Voyager North Outfitters and get a bunk house from them. All you need is your sleeping bag and pillow. It is an awesome place to stay the night before entry and the price is right.

I second Duboly. I'm sure there are other bunk houses available as well if you want to shop around, but we stayed there last week and it was just under $100 for 3 guys.

Fall Lake Campground is an option since you have camping gear

There is a baseball tournament going on in Ely right now. Motels and hotels are booked.

Good for Ely.....

I also suggest Voyagers...they outfit us so we always stay with them but if they have rooms available you won't be disappointed.

Also recommend asking the outfitters if they have a bunkhouse available but my guess this late is that they will be booked.

We have also stayed at the Paddle Inn. Its an older place but clean, we had no issues there.

We did a last minute trip once that started the weekend of the Blueberry festival and everything was booked in Ely. We stayed in Babbit at the Junction Inn. A little longer of a drive but it was a nice place.
