Has anyone spent any time in the Rawn, Art, Buckingham area? OldGreyGoose has a great trip report from the area, but figured I'd throw a post in the Aficionados forum to get some activity going in here.

How's the fishing? Walleyes?

My crews have gone into Rawn twice, once entering at French and once at Nym. The entry down Rawn Narrows passes the dam, then goes on south. There is a nice modest campsite on the east side of the island toward the west end of Rawn, and that is close to the short portages to Art and Buckingham.
Not on the maps, but there are reports in our archives here about how to go from Buckingham to Montgomery Lake (with supposedly some special native glyphs), which would really be a short-cut to the Falls Chain.

If the island camp toward western Rawn is occupied, there is another island camp toward the east end, but I have not personally seen it.

As you enter Rawn Narrows, if you go straight east, you can go up a bay and through some narrow passages, then finally up a rarely used portage to South Howard Lake. Nothing special there; just to brag you did it (picture).

Finally, reporting that we had plenty of tasty fish for our meals, but I do not remember anything outstanding. This is an easy area to reach in 1-2 days if the border should reopen.

Ron... thanks for the feedback. I'm looking for a spot for a solo trip in August and am thinking of a Stanton Bay entry and paddle down to Rawn and Buckingham. Where I camp will be dependent on the weather and how things are going. Man, I want it to be summer...
