Should be a great trip! Don’t limit yourself, you have a lot of time to explore beyond that! Enjoy our treasure

Welcome! Congrats on getting a great permit too. Enjoy the planning and hopefully using the resources on this site to prepare. Here's to your first trip being so awesome you come back again!

Congrats on the trip, should be an epic adventure. Early September in the BWCA weather should be pretty stable and decent but be prepared for cold weather too, it has happened. Could be 90, could be 40. Just sayin, it's not Tennessee weather up here. I would bring some layers, prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Likely you will have great weather but better to be ready for what if.

Early September Bass and Walleye for your first trip? No promises but that is tough to beat right there.

Could not agree more- September might just be the best time to be in the BWCA. Great choice- enjoy!

Welcome! You picked a nice time of year for your first visit. September in the Northwoods is hard to beat.

We just got our first ever permits for the BWCA!! We are so excited for this trip in early September through Sawbill Outfitters. It will be six days, base camping on Phoebe with a strong focus on Smallmouth and Walleye. We are experienced campers, fishermen and canoers in the waters of East Tennessee. Two 60 something and two 30 something friends. We are so appreciative of the information that we have found on BWCA.com and look forward to sage advice forthcoming about our trip.
