We're planning to basecamp on S. Kawishiwi River, hopefully just south of Clear Lake, and looking for input: is it best to enter at #29 North Kawishiwi and head south or enter at #32 South Kawishiwi and head north? This will be a new section for us (2 adults, 2 kids (11 & 9), and a dog). The distance appears to be about the same.

We'd consider #33 Little Gabbro Lake as well, but that one has a couple of longer portages than the other entry points and I'll likely need to double portage...the kids are getting stronger, but not quite single-portage strong.

lol, nice! Good to see you on here.

Went with EP32, timed it right since all permits including and surrounding our chosen entry day were booked within 90 seconds.

Going in on 7/30. We've been doing a similar route with the kids as well (Sawbill, then east), we're excited to switch it up this year. Will likely book one more trip as well, just needed to secure the bigger/family trip.

#32 is pretty easy and straight forward. Quick drive from Ely. Went there in October this year and caught tons of fish!
